This section shows you all the available management utilities for maintaining your forums.

With Forum Categories you can add, delete, or modify your Forum Categories and the Forums contained within them.
To add a new Forum Category, fill out the form on this page. To add a new Forum you will need to edit the category you just made by clicking on "edit forum". The new page will show you a list of forums for that category. You can add, edit, or delete your forums here.

With Forum Ranking System you can add, delete, or modify user ranks which are shown beneath a users name on your forum.
There are two types of ranking systems:
| Global ranks | These will appear under the users name after a specified number of posts have been made. For example, you create a rank called "New User" and assign it a maximum post number of 10. Once users have made 10 posts on your forum, they will be ranked as a "New User". |
| Special ranks | This rank grouping is assigned to the user by the administrator on the user setup page. These ranks will always be visible under the user name in the forums. They also override all global ranks. |
Special ranks are default assigned as min post setting of "-1" and max post as "-1". This is the method you MUST use to override the global settings and ensure that the users rank will always be visible.
(Note: Remember, special ranks are assign to users on the user administration page.)

With the forum access system you can edit, delete, or add new forum access titles. These group titles are assigned to users on the user administration page. It is also used to set moderators for your forums.

This page allows you to edit or delete the smilies used in the forum. You can also add your own custom smilies.
To edit or delete the smilies, click on the appropriate link to the right of the smiley.
In order to create your own smilies you first need to upload your custom image to the /html/images/forum/smiles directory. Note: It is not necessary to store your smilies in the default smile directory, but we recommended you do.
Once you have uploaded your smiley, enter the Smile Code you wish to associate with your smiley (example J). The smile code is used to insert the smiley image into a forum message. Next enter the smiley URL, which is ONLY the name of the smiley, assuming you placed it in the default smiley directory. If you used some other directory to store your smiley, you will need to enter the absolute URL (Example: http://yourdomain.com/somefolder/smile.gif). Lastly, enter the Emotion you wish to attribute to the smiley. Click on Add to finish.
