Table of Contents
The Article Manager provides you a sub menu called Article Management with a drop down menu with utilities to use for article management. This section describes all available utilities.
This is where you as an administrator will approve article submissions made by users for posting on your website.

The first option is to delete the submissions. When you click on Delete it is FINAL, so please be sure about your decision.
You can also choose to Automate posting of any article you choose. Click on Auto Articles and you will be taken to the Automated Story section in order to set the date and hour to publish the selected story.
If you want to publish the story immediately just click on the story title, edit the needed fields, and send it.

You can preview the submission before publishing the story to the homepage or just post it.
This most likely will be your home away from home. A few features should be pointed out here. If you have created categories on your site, you can place your articles into a category to further separate your topic content. This works like a sub-category of Topics, but allows you to create a grouping of articles that may span several topics. You also can select to NOT publish the article on the homepage, but ONLY if a category other than "articles" was selected. It is also highly recommended you use a text editor to prepare your article. This is because if you use your "back" button after previewing the article in order to make changes, the article will be lost. This can be VERY frustrating.

Table 7.1. New Article Entry Options
| Title | Enter the story title. Try to be short and descriptive. |
| Topic | Select the desired topic for this story. If no topic is selected the default selection will be the first topic in the database. |
| The Story | This is the main body of text that will appear on your home page. You can place your entire article here if you like, or just an introduction to the main article. |
| Extended Text |
This space allows you to add more info for your story. If your article is a long one, the biggest part will go here. If there is Extended Text you will see a Read More... link in the Home under this story box. You may use HTML code in your articles, however the text sanitizer will only recognize certain HTML markups.
The current allowed markups are: <a>, <b>, <blockquote>, <code>, <div>, <em>, <i>, <li>, <ol>, <p>, <pre>, <strike>, <strong>, <center>, , , <img>, <tt>, <u>, <ul>, <image> . Naturally, this also includes the closing statments as well. |
| Preview Admin Story | Select this option to see a preview of this story. It is good practice to always double check your spelling, grammar, and links! Read your article and correct the text if needed, then you can post the story. Remember that going back to edit the article will erase your previous article. Please use a text editor when writing your initial article so you have a copy available. |
| Post Admin Story | If you are 100% sure that your story is well written and the URLs are OK you can post it directly without previewing it. |
This is one of the best options of PHP-Nuke. This feature allows you to program your news publications to be displayed on a pre-determined date.

This section is the same as New Article with the added ability to schedule the posting date of the article. Options include day, month, year, hour, and minutes.
This feature is very useful if you want to leave your site alone for a few days to attend a conference, visit your parents, or just take a break. You will enjoy this cool option for sure!
You need to have Topic categories in order to publish your stories. Topics are a fundamental part of this system. With Topics Manager, you can add, delete or modify your Topics, along with viewing all the related articles in that topic.

Each Topic will have a text identifier, description, and a graphic.
To add a new topic, fill out the form in this page.

Topic Name: This is the topic identifier used in the database. Please write a name in lowercase without spaces. For example, if you want have a topic My Soapbox, the database identifier could be something like mysoapbox.
Topic Text: This is the text used for the topic title, alternative text (alt) for each topic graphic, and navigation dropdowns. You can format this how you want (upper, lowercase, and spaces), but keep in mind that it may be in a navigation dropdown, so don't make it too long.
Topic Image: The image filename, not the complete path, just the filename and the extension. For example: entertainment.gif will link to the image stored in /images/topics directory located in your MPN root.
To edit an existing topic, just click on the image of the topic you want to edit. After clicking the image, you will see a new page where you can change the Topic Name, Text and Image or just delete the current topic. WARNING!! If you delete a topic, all the stories and comments in that topic will be deleted! On that page you can also add, edit, or delete the Related Links for each topic. The Related Links will be visible to the user when viewing the full article.
